QUID PRO QUO - WAR TABLE PLOT plotting

hello Quid Pro Quoers, also known as Clarke, Church, Cosima, and Fenris! it's me, your point person Cee (Bellamy). we have a super fun mystery to solve together and I would like to get some plotting going. I am pretty terrible at plurk so I am suggesting we coordinate here--but if this is terribly inconvenient to anyone we can shift elsewhere.



we have 3 big objectives: 1 MAKE A DEAL with the agents of House Alticaen, House Belnarek, and House Dramold in Orzammar, 2 CLOSE THAT NASTY RIFT, and 3 SOLVE THE MURDER MYSTERY. it's my thought that we keep things pretty simple and do a log with 3 sub comments for each of these objectives but if anyone has suggestions for how to tackle otherwise, please let me know.

it's my goal to have this stuff ready to go by THURSDAY 8 JUNE. I'm a little busy with work and after work obligations the next few days but I think I can have starters together by then. if you prefer to work with a posting order for each we can determine that here, or we can also play loose and jump all over each other.

regardless we'll need some results to report by 1 July so I think we can revisit and do some summary if need be. if we get started now and spread out throughout the month I'm sure we can get to July with some decent results no problem.

I am also ok with doing a lot of GMing and NPCing for each of these scenes but if anyone else just looooves NPCing please volunteer here. NPCs will be big for the deal making part as we have 3 NPC agents to work with (Aderik Alticaen, Fenna Belnarek, Varnar Dramold).

also idk if we want to do like a pre we're on our way to Orzammar! subthread as well to establish some in party interactions or something... I am totally open to a fourth subcomment for these purposes. please cast a vote on this as well.


IN SUM: please let me know if this Thursday - end of June works for a timeline for you and your characters, do you want to NPC any dwarfs with me, and do you want some team building time built in. and of course any suggestions, questions, etc - please address here and jump around to other people's addresses.

1 - This Thursday through the end of June is good for me! I have a few things here and there but should be pretty available this month.

2 - I am happy to NPC if you like, with the caveats that I have only beat Origins so I may have to be constantly looking things up re the current state of Orzammar and that I usually only have a couple hours on DW a night, so long boomerangs are hard except on weekends.

3 - Yes please to team building, if everyone else is interested.

Cosima's skill set is going to be best at rift-closing and putting together clues; she is friendly and kind but has practically no frame of reference for dwarf culture (though I'm going to assume someone at least filled her in on the basics of caste and such before lugging her along to Orzammar).

2 - and ALSO good. full confession that I am actually pretty much a DA baby myself as well so between us I bet we can fake our way through dwarf NPCs. I appreciate the help!

and with that I think we can handwave some fill in info for Cosima for basic culture and stuff. Bellamy has some dwarf knowledge and secretly likes to read so if nothing else he can tell her some stuff

Prrrrobably not gonna NPC the dwerfs because I'll be honest the mod post was a big infodump and I don't actually understand all that's going on, whoops. If people want team building that's cool, if not that is also cool. I'm eaaaaasy.

I think all our plot info will make sense once we start carving through it and I have full promises from the mods that we can get handholding if necessary
but also no worries on NPCs I bet we'll be good

Thursday and onward sounds good to me too! I'm always up for team-building stuff, so anything like that would be great.

Not really sure if I'll have enough brainpower to NPC a whole lot... maybe one of the agents if needed. It's been a little while since I played around in Orzammar, but I can remember some of the basics! There's definitely a lot of stuff to go through for the plot, but it sounds like it's flexible as to what we want to uncover and everything.

AWESOME. I think we are good for NPCs right now but I will let you know if we need anything. and I agree I think we can work on the first parts at least--the mystery solving part might need a little more coordination but I am excited.

Unsolicited 4: Since there is a lot of information to uncover and also to piece together for the mystery, maybe a crystal post would be a better way to solve that than RPing logs? We could split up the info characters can figure out alone or in pairs or something and then have a crystal post where everyone shares what they found and try to figure it out. (I honestly don't know the answer, only Cass does, so I won't cheat.) Then if people want to RP their character and a buddy uncovering the specific clues in part 3 they can, but we won't have to wait for all of that info to get uncovered piece by piece.

4: I appreciate this idea as I have said and I think we should go with it. it might be easier to work that part out on plurk so IF YOU DON'T MIND making that pp for me like you said you would I sure would appreciate that too. I am putting together the log now but I'll leave the mystery solving teens piece out for now until we get logistics 2gether.
