Vivienne
15 February 2016 @ 04:28 pm
So based on the war table mission, Vivienne has turned over a disturbing letter the the advisors to deal with, her preference in writing being Josie. A friend is concerned over her association with the Inquisition based on rumors that the Divine isn't even dead and that it's a conspiracy by Cassandra and Leliana to grab power. There's more than one way to fight battles, and this one's being done in fine clothing.

A soiree will be held at Skyhold on March 15th (to give everyone time to get back from EDL hell). Josephine is in charge of the guest list, as it falls squarely under her excellent diplomatic skills. However, Vivienne will be doing her part to make sure the evening is a success and the nobles in attendance are suitably impressed. They should come away satisfied in two ways: a) that the rumors are false and that the Inquisition is executing the will of the late Divine and b) that everyone working with the Inquisition if of excellent character and taste. The ultimate point is to convince the nobility to open their coffers and contribute generously to the Maker's work. It takes money to feed, clothe, arm, and equip an army.

A few notes:

*In a couple of days or so, I'll put up an open post for the purposes of preparing for the soiree. It'll be marked as lasting all month, so no worries if your character is out in the field at the moment.

*Vivienne has personally arranged for 3 tailors to make the arduous journey to Skyhold. These folks will be rather pissy about the long trek... and the lack of civilization and creature comforts. But they know their business and are suffering for the sake of their profits. Commissions will be paid for from the purchaser's pocket.

*Arrangements will be in place at the Undercroft for the creation of dress armor for anyone who doesn't have theirs with them. This comes with the caveat that this is meant to be a party, not an intimidating warzone, so if you've got a military bent character who is ewwwww clothes, try to stick to a dress uniform. The armor version is there as a less than ideal option.

*Attendance is optional. If your character isn't a party person, no big, they aren't obligated to attend. The point is to make a good impression in ways that don't involve stabbing things.

*Good behavior is mandatory. Troublemakers can expect their fellow members to haul them out before their Approval can fall to 0 and its Game Over. Getting a little drunk? A-OK. Blowing up the Chantry party? Please don't.

*Appropriate attire is also expected. Feel free to start whatever new outlandish formal style trend you want. But if your character attempts to party in muddy overalls with straw in their hair, they'll be turned away at the door.

*Any characters with a talent in a fine or performing art can expect to be asked to be part of the evening's entertainment. Sing a song, play a composition, read some poetry, etc... Again, totally optional, but if that's something you'd like to do, have at!

*Signing up isn't necessary. Just start planning and have fun!

Feel free to use this post to plot, plan, ask for suggestions for clothes, etc.
