Since her return from an assignment to Antiva, Araceli broached the matter of working to help the mages as part of her bard work to Leliana, as well as sharing some of her native mythology; Leliana mentioned that she might enjoy some of the tales of Rivain. As Rivain isn't a region that shares as many customs with much of the rest of Thedas, Araceli will be leaving the Inquisition for a short time to go study there where she will learn about the Annulment at Dairsmuid, hearing of survivors of the event desperately in need of aid.
Araceli will contact the Inquisition immediately upon hearing this to speak with Leliana as her boss and teacher about what to do before requesting aid. Korrin Ataash will be requested since she's a member of the Mage Council and has also been to Rivain previously but a message will be sent from Araceli over the crystals to explain the situation and ask for around ten people to come help.
After all, there are Qunari in Rivain, not just Templars milling around which means this is a rock and a hard place for mages. The mages are currently sheltering with a few people who are risking their lives to offer aid but they can't actually get them to the docks and away from Rivain to the Inquisition (since they've heard rumours about the Inquisition and the opportunities for freedom, no matter your race.) Araceli will meet the Inquisition group at the dock having arranged for transport for them to take them to meet the group harbouring the mages but the Templars will have captured them to take them back to Dairsmuid, and we all know why they've taken them back to Dairsmuid.
The teams will have to split into two teams once they reach Dairsmuid: one to go to the dungeons to free the mages where they will deal with a couple of warriors and a torturer, mainly concentrating on rescuing the mages and checking on them, the others will have to go through and kill the remaining Templars. They must be silenced after all, efficiency is crucial in a war. After that it's a tearful farewell to the ones who kept them safe, salvaging what the Templars didn't burn, and then heading back to Skyhold.
The plot will run in late July, and for the sake of being timey-wimey we'll say the 15th-20th July, with the log going up on the evening of the 15th. Sign-ups will close on July 8th to give a week for OOC plotting. As with Morrigan's eluvian log I'll be doing a draft log a week or so prior to share with everyone involved for any thread requests etc because I think it helped everyone involved including me.
Things to know:
- There will be no Qunari, there are only being mentioned as a threat
- The Templars involved are not under any Chantry orders, they're acting on their own
- Technically all Templars are rogue Templars really, it'll be the Rivaini mages very much referring to them as Templars
- I'll edit if anything else comes up!
And the squads have been chosen! (If I got your team preference wrong please let me know it's been a very long day and I'm very tired.)
- Team Dungeon Crashers (lead by Araceli): Kas, Anders, Norrington, Kirk, Ellana
- Team Templar Crushers: Aleron, Korrin, Malcolm, The Outsider, Mal
