WHO: Morrigan
HOW MANY: Unsure, it might depend on interest for this one really but let's say 6-8?
OPEN/CLOSED: Open
WHERE: Korcari Wilds
WHEN: Whenever it slots in best ICly, I'm not in a tremendous rush to get this one going

Morrigan has spent the past several years looking over her shoulder for Flemeth and being in Kirkwall where her last documented sighting was as well as having discussed her more openly of late prompts Witch Hunt 2: Flemeth Boogaloo.  We're going back to the Korcari Wilds or Morrigan and the lucky folks coming with her are (she won't be running it past advisors/division leaders etc, we can handle how she gets hold of you because this is a personal matter not for Inquisition consumption) to hunt down some clues as to what Flemeth is.  If there are any.  Or if there's anything there about where she might be going.

There's some nasty stuff to fight because it's the Wilds, follow a few markers that the team are going to think will lead them to Flemeth shaped clues but instead we meet the Chasind!  The Chasind probably aren't going to want to be involved in the Inquisition but impart some words of caution and then we are on our way but maybe with some eerie words of warning about what is to come since they've got shamans. Morrigan does not feel hugely reassured about her mother.

Note: if people would like to npc some of the Chasind, I'm up for that.  If more people want to come on the mission than there are slots available then that'd go to them if they'd want it first but I'm sure we can all work something out.

ORGANIZATIONAL/OOC UPDATES

OOC Calendar

We have a calendar for 2017/9:43 here. Please refer to it for our OOC and IC schedules, and make sure to add any player plots or major events you organize to it as well!

Open Native Applications

We're not making any changes to the application rules this month, but we wanted to remind everyone that apps for Native characters (OC or AU) are now always open and will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Rifter applications are now bi-monthly, with the next Rifter app period coming on July 1-5.

Projects & Divisions

We've added a few paragraphs to the Leadership page to explain their IC authority from a non-leader's perspective. Take a look!

A couple reminders and a note about Projects:

First, sign-ups for Projects are always open. You may join any project at any time, up to a max of two per-character. If you find you'd like to change your projects, you may do so at any time.

Second, each month we'll be offering four War Table Operations, each related to one of our projects, so each project will get a WTO every other month (except for Base Operations, which generally will not have mod plot, but will have Assignments -- see below). This month we started with the four projects that either don't have PC leaders and/or have had the least presence in game so far: Chantry Relations, Naval Presence, Northern Powers, and Other Powers. Next month we'll focus on the other four.

As we mentioned in the sign-up post, while these WTOs each come under the ambit of a specific project, WTO sign-ups will always be open to all characters, not just those who are project members.

Finally, a project-related AC change. If you make a post (log, correspondence, or event top-level, with actual content, not just a placeholder) that is not OTA but is open to all members of a particular project, that will count as an open post for AC purposes.

PLOT/IC UPDATES

Assignments

In addition to war table operations, we're going to do our best to offer assignments every month. Assignments will usually be based on divisions, rather than projects (except Base Ops), and will focus on smaller jobs that can be done around Kirkwall and its surrounding areas. They may be relevant to the overall plot or might just be fun things to do on the side.

Assignments will be claimed by individual players, not assigned to a whole team, and that player can handle the assignment however they like, including whoever else they like. You can show your character working on the assignment in an open post, run it in a closed log with a couple friends, put together a small player plot, make a crystal post about the aftermath, whatever! (You are required to RP about the assignment in some capacity—you can't just handwave the entire thing OOC.) When you sign up we'll provide you a very brief explanation of what your character will find or what the outcome might be, and you'll be able to fill in details as you see fit.

Assignments are first come, first served. However, players who are signed up for War Table Operations for the month must wait 72 hours after assignments are posted to claim one, to give others a first stab. You must also wait 72 hours to claim an assignment for a division your character doesn't belong to—Forces characters have first dibs on Forces assignments, etc. You can claim an open assignment at any point in the month of June.

If you claim an assignment using the sign-up form in the comments, you'll have until the end of the month to make a report to the relevant division head. These reports should be posted on the individual Division pages on the faderiftorg comm.
DIPLOMACY

1. Poll Kirkwall's citizens about their financial needs and their desires for the Gallows' aesthetic changes.

2. Some of the belongings left behind by mages and Templars have names attached. See if next of kin can be found and if those kin want the belongings. Margaux

3. Kirkwall's only coffee merchant is refusing to sell to the Inquisition. Find out why and try to come to an agreement.

FORCES

4. Someone is stealing goods from the Inquisition's warehouse storage. Find out who and put a stop to it. Iskandar

5. One of the larger rooms at the top of the Templar tower is infested with a deadly enemy: angry birds. Clear them out. Kain

6. Some of the frailer plants typically found in herb gardens haven't survived the last few years untended. The cheapest way to replace them is to find them in the wild and relocate them. Sina

RESEARCH

7. More than a year after the Inquisition stopped the Red Lyrium operation in Emprise du Lion, Sahrnia remains frozen solid. Research possible magical causes and similar past events. Pel

8. The Inquisition has a wide assortment of leather samples. Test them to determine their properties and resistance to different types of damage. Jim Kirk

9. The Gallows' library is completely devoid of books on blood magic, even those condemning it. Search the tower to see if they were stored somewhere else. Waver

SCOUTING

10. Spend some time blending in in the Undercity to learn about the major players in Kirkwall's criminal underground. Yngvi

11. Corypheus' forces communicate using a cipher that changes frequently. Work on cracking it and deciphering intercepted messages collected from Nevarra.

12. Scout the mountains surrounding Kirkwall to identify lesser-known passes and trails that the Inquisition—or its enemies—might make use of. Ellana Ashara
Housing

Now that the Inquisition has been in Kirkwall for almost two months and haven't done anything horrible, Viscount Bran is willing to allow Inquisition personnel to live outside the Inquisition base in the city itself. ICly, the way this works is that characters submit a very brief form to a designated NPC official in the Diplomacy department. They look it over, stamp 99% of them approved, and submit it to the Viscount's office for their records. The other 1% is the rare occasion when the Inquisition isn't comfortable promising the Viscount that the person won't cause trouble.

The IC approval part of this can all be handwaved in favor of a quick OOC process. We're going to treat Housing as an AC Reward--a very cheap one, only 10 points--in order to simulate the IC approval process and also to ensure that we're all being realistic about the means characters have at their disposal and what that will reasonably buy them in Thedas. We know everyone wants a mansion in Hightown, but if we all start throwing around millions in Monopoly money the issues of class and status that are baked into this setting get forgotten and people who want to grapple with those things in RP find it hard to do so.

So to get IC and OOC permission to live outside the base you'll need to spend 10 AC points and submit an AC Reward form with some information about your character's housing plans. We'll look it over to make sure it makes sense, and if it does, you're good to go! If not, we'll let you know what the problem was so that you can adjust. We've added Housing Permission to the AC Rewards list, so you can go take a look now to see details and put in a request if you'd like.
