Mod Hiauts

Our mod hiatus is now in effect! We’ll be working through the plot requests and questions currently in our queue as quickly as possible, but we will not be accepting new plot requests, native applications, or non-urgent questions until January 1.

By urgent questions, we mean questions that an ongoing plot or thread that was either submitted or started in November needs answered in order to proceed. For example, questions about the Nevarra log or missions are still welcome, as are follow-up questions for plots submitted in November. But please keep in mind that we’ll both be traveling a lot this month and may not be able to answer promptly.

Outside of approved plots, try to avoid starting new threads in December that will require us to provide mod approval or game lore for you to continue tagging them—you’ll have to wait until January if you do.

AC Reminder

There will be no December activity check! You’re free! With two caveats:

1. You’re still required to meet base AC requirements and post your AC comment if you would like to claim rewards points this month.

2. If you decide to drop during December, please be courteous and especially mindful about using the drop page rather than idling out.

Cast Caps

Beginning in January we’ll be instituting a cast cap for rifters: no canon/franchise can make up more than 25% of the total number of rifters. At our current numbers, this means a cast cap of five.

Future changes to that cap will be announced on the application page prior to rifter application periods. We’ll make adjustments based on the number of rifter characters in the game one week before rifter apps open. The cap will not fluctuate during app periods—it won’t go up based on received applications, and it also won’t go down if any rifters are dropped less than a week before apps open.

Any casts currently in excess of that cap will have their names placed in a lottery to determine who has to die.

Jk, they’ll be grandfathered in.

In light of this cap, we'll return to providing a reserves system one week in advance of rifter applications.

We’re always (or at least usually) interested in your opinions and open to feedback via the Mod Contact page, but we have a few specific questions we would appreciate you guys answering for us over here.

PLOT/IC UPDATES

Characters on the Nevarra mission should be ICly heading back to Kirkwall on or around Haring (December) 10, though you're free to have your character be called back to Kirkwall sooner if you like, and anyone who has personal business or missions requiring them to stay later than that can do so. Around the 10th we'll give you more info about the impact the Inquisition has had during their stay in Nevarra, based on what we've seen you all up to so far. (Not including the Nevarra missions, since your Reports aren't due until the end of December.)

We’ll have a low-key, not-very-plotty mod event set in Kirkwall later in December, mainly because we want snow and ice skating. January will be a mod plot month.

IC Leadership Appointments

The post was left vacant for a time following the rifter Iskandar's sudden disappearance, but the Forces Division now has a new head: Knight-Lieutenant Luwenna Coupe. The project focused on the History of Corypheus also has a new leader in Enchanter Julius.

The choice of a Templar to lead the Inquisition's fighting force in Kirkwall is generally believed to be in direct reaction to the controversy raised by the unconventional makeup of the rest of the outpost's top officials. Its announcement has been met with general approval, though there is some grumbling about the news that she is Orlesian, because you really can't ever please everybody.

These appointments leave vacancies for the leaders of the Chantry Relations and Northern Powers projects. The next round of applications for IC leadership positions will be reviewed in February, so apply by January 31 if you're interested.
