WHAT'S HAPPENING: A Bannorn distinguished for its mines and the quality of its smiths has conveyed interest in supporting the effort against Corypheus by providing weapons, armaments and/or raw materials to Riftwatch at a pittance in exchange for rooting out and dealing with a small cell of apostate mages who the Bann claims have been harassing his lands, intent on continuing to wage their own little rebellion in the foothills. The Bann doesn't care how they're dealt with - he just wants them not bothering him.
When Riftwatch arrives, they'll find they've SOMEHOW (read: someone gave the Chantry a heads up) been beaten to the punch by a contingent of Templars and Chantry bureaucrats who are there to cash in on the Bann's deal to get resources for the Chantry's impending Divine March, and that they've already apprehended the mages (who are principled, and have definitely been nuisances).
Riftwatch will find themselves pressured to deal with the mages (who have heard Riftwatch plays pretty loosey goosey with mage oversight), negotiate the flow of supplies with the Chantry reps to the Bann's satisfaction, and maybe find a little intelligence regarding whoever slipped information to the Chantry from the Gallows.
WHO'S INVOLVED: You are! This is nominally a Forces-endorsed mission, but given the potentially delicate nature of dealing with Banns and mages and the slightly less delicate inspection of goods and arms, it's reasonable to assume that the team could be a mixed bag from different Divisions/Projects/so forth. A maximum of five (5) player characters will allowed to keep things running smoothly. Sign-ups are first come, first serve. Please see the dorky fillable form in the comments below.
HOW IT'S HAPPENING: A log will be posted for this; certain moles with great cheekbones who may or may not be leaking information from inside Riftwatch will not be involved, but I'll be putting up the log and doing some NPCing/gentle GMing. I'll likely ask participants to determine a few decisions in advance just so no one ends up stuck in the lurch in case things as slow as I know the beginning of the year can be a little tough.
WHEN IT'S HAPPENING: Sign-ups will close on January 18th (unless we get to our 5 PC limit early, in which case all the better), after which point I'll get everyone in a digital room together so we can make some basic decisions for the shape of the log. The log will go up no later than January 21st.
