Hey everybody, let's go on a pirate adventure together!
WHAT'S GOING ON: A few years ago, a rift opening on the island of Nascere—a pirate haven in the Nocen Sea—crippled a rising revolt there and forced the rebels into a guerilla war against the Tevene (read: Ventori) force in occupation. Word on the street is that the resistance force has collapsed, and that the armed conflict on Nascere has at last been routed.
What is less well known is that the occupying Venatori are now looking to use an old ruin discovered in the island's network of caves to widen the pre-existing Rift into a considerably more dangerous Breach-sized tear in the Veil.
Riftwatch will be racing North to put a stop to the Venatori shenanigans and close the Rift before it becomes an even bigger problem. And if a certain pirate rebellion is put back on track in the process, surely no one will have complaints...
Action! Adventure! Drama! Horrible old blood magic! Maybe even some honest to [the Maker] explosions!
HOW WE'RE DOING THIS: This will be a closed log for anyone who signs up. We'll be tailoring the exact scope/sequence of events depending on the level of interest, but expect something action-oriented with a few mini-missions to choose from in a similar vein to the Nevarra City event log, with opportunities for pre- and post-event boat trips.
WHO'S GOING?: This is official Riftwatch business; there won't be anyone to schmooze in the name of diplomatic relations, but there will be plenty of nerd stuff (old ruins!) and spy stuff (sneaking around!), and likely a significant need for deadly force (let's kill some Venatori and demons!). That said, so long as you can squint and find a feasible reason for why a certain character would be there, then feel free to toss them into the mix.
You're welcome to bring more than character if you're jonesing for a multi-level pirate adventure. I'll make sure they don't end up sorted onto the same mini-mission.
WHEN IS THIS HAPPENING?: Sign-ups will be open from now until 11:59pm PST September 9th. That should give us enough time to refine things based on interest and to have the log up by September 12th.
