War Table

The new War Table system is in place. You can review available assignments on the wiki and claim them on this post. As detailed in our last full-length SotG post, we're also going to begin taking the missions characters complete into account as IC indicators of expertise/experience when choosing participants for plots with limited slots, and reports for any missions conducted during the AC period should now be linked in AC comments.

Calendar

The 9:50 calendar is up, complete with IC news updates for March and April. We've moved it to the wiki, rather than gdocs. Everyone is strongly encouraged to add your plots/missions and any other "everyone needs to know this" event information to the calendar. If you're interested in having us add IC news updates that foreshadow or follow your plots/missions, let us know!

If you have something that needs to be added but can't do it yourself, you can let us know via the mod contact post on DW or the mod questions channel on Discord and we'll add it for you. We're also happy to show you how for the future, help you get registered for the wiki if you need it, and anything else wiki-related. We love the wiki.

Misc & Reminders

This is the last month of our January – March activity period. We'll check for activity in early April, so make sure you have your three proofs of activity per character by then and be prepared to link reports for any missions/plots you've participated in during that period.

As you may have noticed, we've been doing SotG posts every other month instead of every month. We intend to continue that pattern! But we'll also post smaller updates as needed, such as if there are IC leadership appointments during a month we don't do a full SotG post.

AC rewards now happen in conjunction with mod plots. But for city housing outside the Gallows, dragon or rift quartz armor and weapons, or new anchor acquisitions, you can request those at any time as long as you meet the requirements for them. Additionally, any reports you file can be counted toward Gallows upgrades!

IC & PLOT UPDATES

This is a mod plot month! This plot will be primarily in the "Riftwatch responds to an emergency" vein, with things for people to do both in the Gallows and elsewhere in Thedas. We expect to have an OOC post with some preliminary information and sign-ups for specific pieces up soon, and the plot itself by mid-month-ish. The plot will be set ICly at the very beginning of Cloudreach (April) and forward-tagged, so you can comfortably plan things for your characters for the rest of this month without needing to worry about them conflicting IC with the plot or resulting world changes.

Gallows Changes

We've achieved two Gallows upgrades!

The first is a lift for the main tower. Construction has been underway ICly for several months (handled by a team of dwarven engineers supplemented by local laborers) and as of now the lift is functional, but the crew is still adding some features and aesthetic improvements, such as: better shielding for passengers during inclement weather, hand-holds at the entrances to make stepping out onto a platform a little less scary, and polishing up the appearance and doing what they can to decrease the noisiness of the chains.

The second is a tavern within the Gallows. One of the smaller, unused buildings in the Gallows complex will be repurposed as a tavern and outfitted with tables, chairs, and taps. What the tavern noticeably lacks is a bartender, so there will also be a lock box affixed to the bartop for people to contribute money toward the beer fund on the honor system when they pour themselves a drink. (IC shenanigans and drama over who has or has not paid their fair share are welcome.) The tavern will be finished by the end of the month, and the IC choosing of a name will be organized by Brooklyn (who turned in the final report to complete the 'purchase').

IC Leader Updates

No new appointments this month! A list of all available roles is on the wiki. If you're potentially interested and have questions, feel free to toss them at the Mod Contact. Applications should be submitted here.

Since we're anticipating the Forces Division Head slot opening up as of the end of the month, we're going to go ahead and open up applications for that position now as well, with the understanding that any new hire's start date might be delayed a bit depending on the IC date Commander Flint actually departs (angry cry emoji).

Additionally, if you want your character to be in charge of something but none of the open roles speak to you, you can take advantage of our new style of projects and create their very own task force to head up, focused on a plot thread or IC goal of your choosing, as a way to flex their IC leadership muscles.
