WAR TABLE: Tall Tales

WAR TABLE ASSIGNMENT: TALL TALES
WHAT: Having taken notes at the Conclave to supplant various other stories he's come across in his travels to condense into two pamphlets to be distributed surreptitiously across Orlais and western Ferelden, with particular focus on the Hinterlands. One pamphlet will detail various mage and rifter heroic deeds, and feel-good stories, while the other will deep dive on the unjust suffering mages and rifters have faced.
Riftwatch's goal here is to shift public opinion in favor of rifters and mages by circulating this information, which will hopefully sway some hearts and minds in these areas.
HOW: Our heroes will be charged with distributing pamphlets throughout assigned areas so they can be seen and picked up by locals. The goal is to distribute without being clocked as Riftwatch agents, to avoid rocking the boat with the Chantry anymore than they already have through their participation in the Conclave.
Anyone signing up will be paired off or charged with recruiting their own partner, aka I will RNG you a partner out of the people who signed up, or your character can yoink in a friend to travel with them. Everyone who signs up will get a scenario detailing the obstacles their characters will need to circumvent to accomplish their mission.
Basically, check out last summer's Antiva plot to get an idea of how it'll work.
WHOMST: Open call. Preference to those who can operate stealthily without drawing attention to themselves, with secondary preference for mage and rifter rights supporters, but this is a free-for-all.
WHEN: Sign-ups will be open until FRIDAY, OCTOBER 7TH. Assignments and catch-all log will be posted over the following weekend.

QUESTIONS.
SIGN-UPS.

Viktor and Wysteria are assigned three villages in Western Ferelden. Regrettably neither of them are griffon riders, so they've been issued a cart and a mule to transport themselves and their supply of pamphlets from village to village. Their job is to assess each location, decide on the best method to disperse the pamphlets, and then skeedaddle before anyone clocks them as Riftwatch members.
However, in the process of scouting out drop points, they discover one of the villages is home to Mother Natela, a Chantry mother who has been floating around the periphery of Chantry reform discussions. Natela has gained a reputation as a sympathetic and fair voice in her dealings with internal inquiries within her Circle.
Should Viktor and Wysteria inquire further, they'll discover that Natela has been helping aging templars manage the effects of lyrium. While the town is small and not especially notable, the townspeople will report a steady influx of templars arriving to seek out Mother Natela and convalescing at their town's small Chantry. While disseminating the rest of the pamphlets is important, the two of them will have the opportunity to recruit Mother Natela to appear at the upcoming Conclave to speak on behalf of these templars. (NPCing available, if y'all so desire.)

Just checking about the report for this mission. I know it's way late in the game, so if your assigned person isn't feeling it at this very late point, please give me a quick rundown of your success rate/any notable events from your part of the mission and I will whip up a report on the party's behalf. If you have someone with a draft and they still want to file it, that's also extremely cool. Just let me know which route y'all want to take.

Laurentius and Gela have been dispatched to western Orlais, with firm instructions that they are to be sure to deposit their pamphlets without attracting any negative attention. John has assigned them three villages located between Andoral's Reach and the Fields of Ghislain where rebuilding efforts have begun in earnest. They'll be provided with a list of common gathering places (think: taverns, town squares, meeting houses, even local Chantry buildings) that would be promising places to leave innocuously illustrated pamphlets.
This is a little bit of a Choose Your Own Adventure scenario. Between the two of you, consider whether it would be more fun to:
Or any secret fourth option that might be equally fun for Gela and Laurentius to get up to. A log has been generated for all your threading needs. Please select one person to write up a cumulative report detailing both adventures and post it before November 10th.
