This is Anna, bringin' in a new dude here to keep Simon company! And using the form because it's easier.
CHARACTER
Name: Diwaniya (no last name because his world just, like, doesn't have them ever)
Info Page/App: Here!
Who They Are: Diwaniya was a member of his world's ruling class, the Shapers, who got that name basically by being able to create armies of dinosaurs and giants and shit out of thin air to crush all their enemies. Sadly, Diwaniya will not have the power to do this in Thedas, and was actually just about to be executed as a tyrant by a bunch of rebels who were sick of the Shapers and their magic dinosaurs, before the rift's timely intervention. But by god, will he still have the attitude.
Where They've Been: Until very recently, a land called Terrestia. Specifically, a tiny swampy little shithole called Harmony Isle, where everything was rainy and his subjects hated him and the marshes were filled with tentacle monsters.
What They Want: He'll want to be able to Shape again, but that's never going to happen, so he'll have to make do. Since the Shapers are mostly scientists with the help of magic, Diwaniya will be excited to throw himself into all manner of research here. Back in his world, he was the governor of an island that was known for its rare plants and herbs, so botany is a particular interest of his, and he'll really want to make himself useful by learning about Thedosian herbology and maybe trying to be an apothecary at some point.
He's also...really going to want to learn blood magic, because the principle of it sounds similar to what he's used to from back home. It's gonna be a thing. Pray for him.
Plot & CR Desires: I would love to sort of apprentice Diwaniya to people who know things about herbs and potions! I would also really like him to learn to read trade, since he won't immediately be able to. And in general, he needs people to take him down a peg and get it through his head that Shapers are not a thing here and he is a nobody.
Anything Else: The Shapers have a weird relationship with magic. Specifically, they think that they're the only ones who should be allowed to use it. Shapers are really, really, really big on regulation of magic, and as such, despite being a mage himself by Thedosian standards, Diwaniya will think Circles are an awesome idea and should absolutely be a thing. (He'll think the Chantry is stupid, though.)
